A trip to Budva

Budva is an exiting place on the montenegrin coast. Year round Budva has about 15'000 habitants, but in summer it's crowded with tourists (mainly from Serbia, Russia and more and more from Italy.)
The main attractions are
beautiful beaches, a constantly warm and clean sea, a vibrant nightlife, wild beautiful nature and stunning mountains. I travelled the most of the Croatian coast...but I think that here beaches, sea and nature are much nicer (and I heard that even more south in Albania it's even more beautiful!)

This is the way to Budva's most famous beach "Mogren". Nestled in-between several large cliffs it is accessed by a 500 m pathway from Budva's Old town.

Apart from its natural beauty, its bay islands and beaches for example, Budva is rich in historic monuments.

The Old town lies on a small peninsula and represents a treasure chest of culture heritage. Crossed with narrow streets and squares are famous buildings (Church Sv. Trojica, housing the tomb of writer Stjepan Mitrov Ljubisa, the Churches of Sv. Ivan, Sv. Bogorodica and Sv. Sava).

While for the late evening the places to go are at the beachwalk (like the Trocadero for Turbofolk-Music and the Sajam for Narodna-Music) the nice places for aperitive time are the little bars in the old city .

The venetian walls of the Old town are a famous tourist attraction.

Two problems are a notable drawbacks in development of tourism in Budva: One is shortage of tap water in summer month (the entire montenegrin coast has this problem, and a lot of privates and hotels try to compensate with water reservoirs) and the other big problem is traffic and parking,as most of the beaches are located around Budva, cars crossing the town and circulating in the narrow roads in the village are a big infrastructure problem, that the little city will have to resolve quickly (hopefully without disfiguring the landscape.)

The Old Town in Budva has many different tales and stories of its origin. Some believe it to be originally an island, which later joined the shore to form a sand isthmus.
Much of the architecture in the Old Town is of Venetian origin.

Adesso gli italiani a Budva invece spaventano la gente locale.... mangiando ricci di mare in spiaggia.
Tu ljudi misle da to je cudno!
